letter

how effective do you think it is to have the dean of annenberg forward a recommendation letter to the Assistant Dean of Admissions on your behalf?

I think it would help it definitely wouldnt hurt you

Wouldn't you think the Dean of Annenberg would just say, "Admit crf17"? Slam dunk. Unless you are applying to a different area, I suppose.

yeah i did apply to annenberg, but that doesnt mean that he can automatically admit? does it?

Just curious- how can you get a letter of rec from the Dean of Annenberg? Is he a friend, relative...?

this actually isn't for me, it's for a friend..(unfortunately) not sure of the direct connection, though. just wondering if it actually makes a difference. & if so, how much?

First of all, I'm not sure if I believe it.

If it is true, it would either be one of two kinds of recs:
- the Dean has a very good reason why the applicant should be admitted and admittance will be granted, or
- the Dean is just a friend or family member who wants to help out.

If the latter is the case, I don't think it will make a difference unless the applicant is already highly qualified and just needs a hair to put them over top.

I think it will definitely help push the applicant into the IN pile is he is close.
