Hello,
I'm one of the candidates who applied to Notre Dame EA, and I heard most of the people in the U.S got their decision notification by mails. I still haven't got mine, though.

I live in Santiago, Chile, so I supposed it would take a little longer. But Even after a week I didn't get any letters, so I called the admission office 2 days ago and they said they would call me until yesterday. They haven't.

So I was wondering if candidates are either denied or deferred, U Notre Dame refuses to notify and expect them to "understand" that, if they haven't got any notices, they are denied.

I would assume that they would be more respectful about a denial than just ignoring you and hoping you’ll go away and understand. I don’t think any college would do that, especially Notre Dame. They would at least email you if they didn’t want to tell you over the phone.

I realised I had some grammar mistakes, but you still understood. Thanks for replying. I will expect them to notify me soon, hopefully with a positive outcome.

If you’re in Chile, you should have received an email notification of your decision. It is possible that they misplaced your file and accidentally moved you to the RD round. I know of a few people who had this happen to them. Maybe the office is on holiday now, so couldn’t get back to you.

Really? That’s funny, because I did not receive any emails. In fact, any notifications at all. I understand that there are so many applicants and they are very busy, and mistakes do occur. But I thought that telling me that they would notify me by yesterday through phone call and not calling at all was a little disrespectful. Especially from a respected college such as the U Notre Dame.

Bizflow-- I am an international student and got notified by e mail. The e mails says a letter will also follow.
The office is closed till January 4. So call them after that.

I’m an international student as well.
I received an email telling me the application is complete. Then I received the decision through email on Dec 18 (US time) as most of the other internationals did.

Notre Dame sends a letter to every applicant who completes and application with a decision, regardless of nature. You WILL get a letter if your file was decided on. However, I would recommend calling (or call now and leave a voice mail). Possibly check on the Notre Dame website for a specific admissions counselor who handles international students (or your region) and call him/her. That will get you the fastest response.
