Agreed with all said here. We laughed when ds's came in the mail today. I said- "look - you don't even have to apply and you end up getting the thin envelope from Harvard". Well, it was funny in context....

Xellis, that's pretty strange considering Penn mails more than any other elite school except WashU.
Schools that don't mail out too much (at least in my area) are Princeton, MIT and Columbia.

I got the same thing yesterday, but I'm used to them by now. Still, it's HJarvard, it's a bit of an honor to be selected as one of several thousand hopeful rejects.

WUSTL has seriously sent me at least 10 snail mail/emails, but I don't mind. 210 must be the magic PSAT for them.

If it weren't for checking to receive mail from colleges, I wouldn't have broadened my horizions at all (not to mention ever finding CC). Thanks to a simple Caltech email, I'm now applying there, HMC, MIT, Olin, and maybe even Satnford. Will I be rejected from most (maybe all)? Very high chance, but if even one of them likes me, I'll send the Collegeboard a cookie as thanks.

Hahaha. I just bubbled "no" on the student search service for the PSAT. I did that last year too, even though that was something my school definitely objected to. I hate getting SPAM. I pretty much know where I want to go, so sending me more mail isn't going to change much. It's funny though... I STILL get mail, even after bubbling "no." What the heck?
