Letters have started to go out!

^no one really knows, this is all just speculation.

wow......thats a horrible way to do it.......lol im soo incredibly nervous.....ahhh...oh well

^ I feel your pain. I know now is not the time to be nervous (after all, everything is in and the decision is made) but I can't seem to help it.

my d is first child going to college, I don't know how this works, so excuse me if this is a silly question but...

If she is waitlisted @ BC how will this work in regards to responding to an acceptance letter at other schools?

If she is accepted elsewhere and wants to accept but BC is her first choice is she allowed to accept at other schools and remain on a waitlist @ BC as well, in hopes that she is admitted in the future? Then she would have to withdraw acceptance elsewhere and lose her deposits?

Do waitlist students have to still pay deposits?

Are they refundable?

Who can tell me what to expect if you are waitlisted?

Thanks

I was waitlisted at BC and it was my second choice school. I felt really proud to be waitlisted because I was certainly expecting a rejection from such a competitive school. Anyway, I am the first too to go to college in my family so I understand. Boston College explains everything in the letter they send. I sent my deposit to Penn State. She should reserve her spot at another school. If BC accepts her later than you may lose that money, I would have with PSU. I didn't write an appeal letter but I felt I should have. If she is very interested still in BC, if waitlisted ,she can write a letter explaining why she wants to go to BC and why accepting her would be worthwhile which I'm sure it would be.They also wanted to see my final grades from high school. In addition, I recieved my waitlisted letter around this time. They sent me a card which asks you if you would like to remain on their waitlist. If she accepts, then in May she'll recieve her actual decision. I was later denied admission, but I still felt happy i was even considered amoung the best. Anyway now I am applying again as a transfer student. Best of luck to your daughter.

BC's website has a section under undergraduate admissions entitled The Waiting List that explains what it means exactly and what to do if you are waitlisted but would still like to attend.

wow after finding out that they ACTULLY mailed the letters and one is actully addressed to ME is crazy.... after 4 yrs of idolizing BC as my "dream school" i think i might have to go puke in the bathroom or something.....imso nervous : /

A friend of mine received a letter Saturday and got waitlisted.

Anyone get in yet?

Where does your friend live, Ph0enix?

I would guess somewhere in the Northeast (just because it was there in a day).

From what I saw from the topic last year (and I just read over most of it again) the rejections tended to drift a bit more west and south every day, then the acceptances came in on wednesday. I'm still trying to figure out if they send out all the rejections/waitlists together, or if they stagger them throughout those few first days.

Anybody have any more info like that?

wow, im so ****ing scared now. Do you think BC will read additional essays and research that I sent?

He lives in Boston.

so cool to have them actually tell everyone something. i am impressed. loved the school when i visited but it is so expensive just like vandie...another choice. but some of the schools don't bother to tell you anything and it is terrible trying to guess. bc is on the ball.
