<p>This is probably a stupid question, but should I just have my teacher mail her recomendation to the admissions office? And do you think it matters if the letter of rec is submitted before my actual application, or should i ask my teacher to hold off on sending it until i've submitted my app?</p>
<p>You can but they prefer Common App uploading of docs, including rec letters. If docs get in before your app, a file will be created for you. Just make sure the rec letter has your full name and HS clearly defined. Frankly, it’s better to have her wait. Plus you’ll want the same rec letter to your other colleges, too, right?</p>

apparently the teachers just email it to the student’s commonapp account and everything is sent together, so if my teacher is donw with the rec before i, it is just saved to my account</p>
