I looked at the form for letters of recommendation and it said to juniors and seniors teachers only.. Did I misread it?

It means that only your 11th and 12th grade teachers can write a letter of recommendation for you.

How can you get a reliable rec from a senior year teacher , you may have had the teacher for a few months at the most.
That would limit recs to junior year teachers?

What if you had a soph year teacher in a core subject that you excelled in and was a faculty advisor on an EC project , wouldn’t that rec have more pertinence?

You can complain about it all you want, but a requirement is a requirement. From the university’s perspective, sophomore year was two years ago. If a teacher recognized your excellence then, why aren’t they recognizing your excellence now?

If you must insist on having a 10th grade teacher write your recommendation, talk to admissions first and explain your situation.

I get that it is a requirement , but a 12th grade teacher that may only know
a student for a short period can’t provide a complete assessment.
For Early Action apps , a 10th grade teacher is only 1 grade removed from teaching the student for an entire year and can provide a complete picture having taught the student for a full year.

The optimal assessment would be provided by an 11th grade teacher.

To answer the question:

“If a teacher recognized your excellence then, why aren’t they recognizing your excellence now?”

The teacher may not know you well enough in the first month of school to recognize the excellence.

Does Georgetown require 2 letters of recommendations from teachers? I’m going to have to ask another one of my junior year teachers to write a letter if they do.

At my school, teachers teach more then one subject. I had a Honors lit teacher Sophomore year who is teaching AP Lit Senior year. That is the idea with 12th grade recommendations. I doubt any school has teachers that teach only one class.

And yes, they require 2 letters.

Oh, I thought the school requires 1, but 2 recommendations from juniors/seniors teachers?

I am pretty sure that only one teacher recommendation is needed, but they also ask for a counselor recommendation.

About the teacher recommendations, may we submit more than one?

Georgetown seems to require only one teacher recommendation, though a counselor recommendation is also needed.

I am submitting my application EA with recs from teachers I had my junior year (one of them I also had freshman year, so she’s known me for over 3 years now). If I am deferred EA, would I be able to submit another recommendation from a senior year teacher during RD?
