Letters of recommendation(mature student)

I finished HS 4 yrs back and I want to apply for undergraduate now. I was wondering if I can give the following letters of recommendation instead of the once from HS professors:
1. from the director of the company where I work
2. from the director of the voluntary service which I do.

Thank you

Elisa

Anyone?....

Are you gonna apply for Harvard after four years out of school? Anyway, just pick the ones that SAY THE BEST ABOUT YOU. Between the two you listed, I think either is okay, but he's got to write good things about you PERSONALLY. General things like "she's honest" or "she's hardworking" don't work very well. He should show that he knows you well and likes you very much for your own good virtues. Well, sort of. If you aren't waiving access, ask both of them and pick the better one;)

Thank you !

I'm not sure that's kosher with the admissions people. You should call them to check first. My suspicions are that they'll let you send in those recommendations in addition to but not in lieu of the regular school-teacher ones.

Look, Kat, this buddy left school four years ago! I wouldn't expect her school counselor to remember enough about her to write anything decent. Anyway, where are you applying to, Elisa?

why dont you give the admissions office a call and ask them?

you are right ! I'll give a call and ask !Thanks !
