Letters of Recommendation

This is something my friend and I were wondering about, but what happens if a professor you ask to write you a letter of recommendation for grad school doesn't turn one in? Does that reflect poorly on the applicant?

This probably isn't the same thing since as far as I know recommendations don't play as important an role, but I applied to a 3-2 program, and only one of the professors I asked for recommendations actually submitted them. The other two haven't submitted them yet and they are due tomorrow. I emailed them numerous times and am going to see them tomorrow.

Professors are notorious procrastinators when it comes to LORs. Many will submit at the deadline. Some submit afterward, and as long as those letters arrive in a week or so after the deadline, the graduate admissions committee usually doesn’t care.
