Letters of Recommendation

I know that it's strongly preferred for a student to waive his/her right to read a letter of recommendation, but does it totally ruin the legitimacy of its if I don't? I have about 4 teachers that I think I could get solid recommendations from, but I don't want to send in 4 letters. I was thinking that I would read the letters and send the best two or three. Should I do this or just try to narrow down my # of letters?

Thanks for the help :}

bump bump bump come on

I have asked three teachers to write letters and I have given my GC the discretion to choose the two best ones that he thinks a college would like to read.

Good idea! Thank you
