Letters of Recommendation Question!

<p>Several of the schools I'm applying to require letters of recommendation. I have some teachers in mind, but I'm slightly confused...do they have to fill out separate recommendations for the separate schools or just one general recommendation with the college name inserted somewhere? I would hate to make a teacher write three or four recommendations....</p>

<p>And if the recommendations have to be completely separate, is there any way I can sidestep that by requesting that my teacher write one and simply put different college names on it? Is that not a common practice? </p>

<p>Your teachers will probably know what to do - ask them to write you a recommendation, then get the forms for however many colleges you're applying to together. Yes, they do have to fill out all the forms, despite how tedious it is.</p>
