I’m a little confused about the whole Letter of Recommendation thing. I’m going to be applying to the following colleges:

CalTech
UC Berkeley
UC San Diego
UC Los Angeles
UC Davis
CalPoly - SLO

How do I figure out how many letters of recommendations I need (I couldn’t find anything on their websites)?

How do I turn in the letter of recommendation? Do I mail it to them, include a digital copy with my online application? Can somebody please explain this as I’m quite confused as to how it works.

Is there a deadline or something? When do I turn it in?

MUCH thanks in advance for any help I can get.

Recos are a very confusing process. I know calstates and UCs don't require any, so the only one you would have to do is caltech. You give the form supplied by them along with a a stamped and addressed letter to your teacher to fill out and mail, also give them a thankyou note later, and they do the rest (hopefully). Caltech will also probably want a secondary school report, which is basically the same process with your counselor. Please investigate their website for more information, as I am by no means the definitive source.

I'm confused, what would be humanities teacher (What kind of classes?)?

So, I'm still a bit confused here. Do you NEVER send a letter of recommendation with UC's? Are you sure nobody else does? Everybody's always talking about getting a good letter of recommendation and what not...but if UC's don't even accept them...something's now right here.
