I currently only take one class in person and I don’t think that teachers letter of recommendation would be useful. I take a few classes online but the way I communicate in those classes is threw a online group chat and email. Last year I took classes in person and those recommendations would surely be 10/10 but those teachers aren’t uses to writing letters of recommendations . My mother is insisting I take all online classes next year, and I am worried I will have no valuable letters of recommendations from teachers. Does anyone have any advice.
If you think they’d be good recommendations, definitely ask your teachers from the previous year. There are plenty of templates out there if they haven’t done it before.
With regard to the online classes - I wouldn’t worry too much. If you do your best work and make an effort to engage with the teachers, they will probably be happy to write you a recommendation letter. If you’re concerned about their knowledge of you in a classroom setting, is there a tutor you can ask? SAT/ACT prep coaches could also work.
Lastly, if you’re only taking online classes in the coming year, where will your extracurriculars be? Letters of rec from mentors or coaches are completely acceptable. If you’ve got extra time on your hands, get a part-time job and have your supervisor write something! Don’t worry, you have options!!
