Lewis and Clark, Willamette, University of Portland???

Hey guys, I am a 19 year-old transfer student studying Technical Theatre.
After one year of Portland State, I decided it really wasn't the school for me (too big and impersonal) but I really love Portland itself. Now that it's transfer time, I'm totally stuck as to which of these three great schools to choose. (This is assuming I get into all of them, but I'm pretty sure I'm safe except maybe just possibly Willamette, but I really do think I'll be fine)

My top priority is the quality of the theatre major, so I was wondering if anyone who has any experience with the theatre programs at any of these schools could let me know the pros and cons. Unless Willamette's is significantly better, I'd like to stay in Portland. I would also love to know other insider info on these schools (dorm life, activities, friendliness, teacher availability, academic rigor, etc)

Thank you sooo much!

Don’t know a thing about Theater Departments.

Nevertheless…Williamette and L&C are both very strong colleges. Oddly enough, Willamette may be better known because many of its students choose majors that will get them into west coast Law and Business schools thereafter [think UC Berkeley, UC Hastings, U Washington Law, Stanford Law, Stanford Business]. The pre-professional track, so to speak. Then again, alumna Monica Lewinsky brought some notariety to L&C.

The L&C campus is quite woodsy and thus, attractive. Never been to Willamette. As I recall, L&C was pricey and a bit stingy with Financial Aid.

U of Portland is a Catholic school that has been trying to raise its standing, presumably by offering $$$ to incoming students with high marks. But I think that may apply more to science-major students.

Willamette and L&C are the stronger two colleges overall. Of course, Willamette is not located in the city of Portland. L&C operates a shuttle to downtown Portland, as I recall.
Good luck.
