LGBT Friendly?

I actually couldn't find ample information about whether or not LGBT kids at this school are generally accepted. Some reports from like, early-mid 2000s state that F&M is more conservative - any change since then? What about the diversity of the school in general (ethnic, economic, etc.)?

Here’s an LGBT page from the school.
I suggest asking someone who is LGBT and attends the school. They might have a better perspective on this.
I’m not sure how accurate this information is but it’s ranked #1023 nationwide for ethnic diversity.

Is this one of the schools you want to attend?

I know this question is from October, but I thought my experience would be of value to you. I graduated from F&M in 2013. I identify as a lesbian, although I was not completely out in college. F&M is still fairly conservative when it comes to LGBTQ issues. They do have a a group on campus, and there are several events hosted by the LGBTQ community, however I was never a part of that. I know there were some members, but there were a small number of people that were out at F&M. Granted, I graduated almost two years ago, and things were definitely getting better. I had a close group of friends that were openminded, and faced similar struggles to myself. I hope that this helps. I enjoyed my college experience. It’s what you make of it. You can find a diverse group of people at F&M. I had an incredibly diverse group of friends, because I didn’t want to limit myself to people who shared all the same opinions as me. So, I think that you would definitely find what you’re looking for at F&M.
