I would like any information or recommendations anyone has for a non-denominational liberal arts college with strong ballet. I know about schools like Smith, MHC, Skidmore, and Barnard, but I would like a few more co-ed schools to put in the mix. For reference- I have a 31 ACT and 3.7 unweighted GPA, and I’ve been dancing in ballet, tap, and jazz for around 13 years, Thank you so much, any response is appreciated!!
Bryn Mawr has a pretty decent dance program. If you want coed, you could apply to Haverford and take full advantage of the dance offerings at Bryn Mawr.
Mills has a great dance program. https://www.mills.edu/academics/undergraduate/dnc/
You can cross reg classes at UC Berkeley
I just looked up Scripps and it has a dance program as well. Part of the Claremont Consortium
Several liberal arts colleges allow advanced ballet courses to be repeated for credit, so this may provide more depth in their dance curricula than may be immediately apparent. Look into Connecticut College, Kenyon and Hamilton for dance combined with wide-ranging liberal arts programs. For LACs with perhaps more of a fine arts focus – but also perhaps a generally narrower range of liberal arts and sciences offerings – look into Sarah Lawrence, Muhlenberg, Bennington and Goucher.
WashU is good for ballet, but a reach for everyone.
Dickinson College has an affiliation with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and would be a good fit for your stats.
Muhlenberg is not noted for its dance program, its theatre program is the draw for a lot of kids.
I’ll defer generally to those who know more about Muhlenberg than I do, but they do offer advanced ballet:
