Liberal Arts Major

Hi,
Help a guy out. I'm interested in being a liberal Arts major but not in history. What liberal arts major least likely requires freguent writing of essays and long papers. A "light" liberal arts major. Is there any? and no i prefer not to major in business, math or science.
thanks,

The job market demands excellent communications skills - that's why universities place so much emphasis on writing.

Since they are not "vocational" (e.g. economics) degrees, pretty much all LA majors are going to involve a good deal of writing. Some upper level classes will have a single large final essay as the only graded component of the course so there is really no way to dodge the writing requirements.

One suggestion - don't rule anything out at this point. The university experience of a subject is VERY different from what one sees in HS. The fact the professors are actually experts in what they're teaching (by and large) and are usually pretty enthusiastic makes a HUGE difference.

And of course, there's no shame in putting "undecided" down for your major. Most people change majors at least a couple times before they graduate.

If you're looking for something easy, something with the word "studies" in the name usually leads you in the right direction. eg "African American studies" "Asian American studies" "Legal studies" etc.

thanks guys

African American Studies
Women's Studies
Latin Studies
Jewish Studies
and Queer Studies are pretty light
