Life after a Harvard rejection.

It's probably not too likely that I will receive a message of acceptance in my inbox today at 5:00 PM. My SAT scores were not that high. I don't even have a 4.0 GPA. I didn't discover the cure to cancer, nor can I speak three different languages. The odds are against me, clearly.

In the interim, I still have Boston College, Boston University, and Northeastern University to consider. BU gave me a generous financial package. BC has an excellent business school and D1 sports. NEU has co-op. All would be great schools to attend.

For me, like Warren Buffet and so many others rejected by Harvard, life will go on. It just has to.

So, anyone else now thinking about Harvard for graduate study? I am. I will be applying to Harvard Business School in 2014.

They say undergrad doesn’t count that much anyways  Save all your money for grad school!

But I really don’t want college to be a second high school. Which is why I’m so hyped about meeting intellectual, passionate people.

I am an international student and I apply to Princeton. Acceptance rate is extremely small in Princeton. Harvard is the same. I have a bad SAT score, mediocre ACT score, somewhat good SAT II score, ok essays, mediocre extra activities,… I assure 90% I will be rejected by Princeton since a lot of talented kids from my country also apply to. However, assuredly, I will move on except every bad luck.

there are hundreds of thousands of people walking around and living life after being rejected from harvard. you’ll be fine.

For me it’s probably down to Smith or Bryn Mawr. Decisions, decisions…

^^^ I, too, am SO READY to get out high school. away from the passionless kids, away from the clueless administration, away from all the busywork!

Me too, girlfriend. I can’t wait to meet all the driven, interesting people at Harvard.

a 5% chance is still a chance, right?

There is no such thing.

How hard is it to get in to Harvard Bus, Law, or Med?

^^hey, it’s a 7% chance!!

…I’m gonna need the extra 2 percent…

Harvard Med is even harder. It’s like undergrad admissions only worse. You could be a better student with better stats than some guy because he volunteered in some 3rd world country.

Harvard Law is easy to get into if you are star student who does well on standardized testing. Law school is pretty stat-driven–much more so than medical school or undergrad.

Becoming a Harvard Bus driver is very exclusive. Don’t even try.
