Life after math

I am currently going back to school to finish my civil engineering degree after a ten year break. I jumped back into calc 2, not wanting to waste time with refreshers. I am rereading calc 1 at the same time I doing calc 2, starting at the front and back of the book and working to the center. I am doing OK so far, but everytime I finally feel comfortable with the subject matter we go onto something new. I keep waiting for the point in time where we just apply what we know and stop adding more. So my question is this, once the math sequence is done, does the applied math get harder or easier.

Thanks, I'm hoping to have something to look forward too. I keep telling myself that once the math is done it will be more intuitive.

The math is intuitive, if you don't think so you wont find the other things which builds upon it intuitive either.

Or your math professor is just bad.

But anyhow once the math is done you will not have to learn any more math so you will get a lot of time to let everything sink in.

That is good to hear. I can understand the theory easily and do fine on assignments. My weakness is my memory. I remember things well that I use alot, everything else vanishes. I forget conversations with people I had yesterday. The sad thing is I'm only 34.

Which is why you practice. Practice doing the questions enough times should help it sink into your memory.
