Life after Transferring?

Can any past transfers remark on what happens after this? After you've been accepted is it easier as a sophomore? As a junior? What did you do to make a name for yourself? Was life easier at your new college? Were there still many opportunities still available? Is it harder to get into grad school since your two/three years are spent establishing an amazing GPA and studying for GMAT/LSAT/GRE?

I'm tired of calling the people they gave me off that damn list. They all sound like hippy barbies.

I transferred after my Sohomore year as a Junior. I decided to spend the summer taking a couple of courses at my new school to gain back some lost credits and to help get acclimated at the new place. I thought that was very helpful in the transition. I don't know that I made a name for myself, but I had a really great two years there. It was a little bit harder meeting people as a transfer and not benefitting from orientaion and starting as a freshman. However, if you put some effort in and be outgoing you will do fine. Join in whatever activities the new school has to offer that interest you. I didn't have this opportunity, but I think networking on facebook can also be helpful in meeting people even before school starts. Some schools have facebook transfer groups and get togethers scheduled for incoming students. Take advantage of it.
Good luck.

Great thread, Bourne. I'm also interested - so to knock it to the top of the list... bump*
