I applied to these schools knowing that they are commuter schools, but I was wondering, is it really as dull as everyone say it is?
I’ve heard a lot about how everyone goes home after their classes, but what about the ones who live on campus?
Will the people who live on campus still get the college experience?
Are there things to do in the area?
How’s food? (dining halls, restaurants, etc.)
I’m not the biggest party type, but are there a lot of parties (I’d like to experience at least one)
How’s Greek Life?
Tour the schools and ask some of the students you run into. That really is the best way to get a feel for the campus and what it ts really like to attend.
It has been a long time since I was on Fullerton’s campus and have never seen their dorms so, i won’t comment.
I know Long Beach has a lot of dorm beds. There is a big complex off campus that seems more lively than the kinda sleepy on-campus complex.
Spend a few hours on each campus and make your own conclusion.
My son is a freshman in the dorms at CSUF. He lives on a themed floor which has been great. He made friends immediately with pretty much his entire floor. The dorms are about 6 years old and very nice. Excellent gym. Dining plan is unlimited. Plenty to do if you live on campus. Tons of clubs. My son’s problem is how to make room for activities with lots of hw & studying. The school actually seems to push Greek life. They rush fall & spring. He is considering joining next year.
Curious about this as well, I applied to both. It seems like CSULB would have a lot going on in being in LA (county) and all. No idea about Fullerton
