The last graduation rate for four years I saw was 79%. For African American kids it was 78%. They must do something right.

As for Academic reputation people contacted my daughter for summer jobs. One is teaching calculus to high school kids at an academy several states away from South Carolina. Lead America hires staff from top universities and colleges. They contacted my daughter so they consider Furman a top school.

Parents on the West Coast alway tell me "Furman I've never heard of it." I tell them its one of the place you go if you're really smart.

Our S and D are freshmen at Furman and live in the dorm directly across from the Soccer fields. S is friends with one varsity women's soccer player and knows several men's soccer players-thought not well. Soccer seems to be a big draw at Furman-the past two times we have been to the school on week-ends the stadium has been full for matches. I see you live in Florida-high school soccer and traveling junior soccer are "big" in southern states which may play a role in student support of the teams. The other thing I can tell you is the facilities for athletes ( training) are tremendous-Furman has had a stellar recruitment season so far for both men's and women's tennis and I believe for baseball.
