After reading people’s discussion about Tandon, I am having trouble understanding exactly what it is and still have some questions…
I understand that Tandon is a part of NYU, but does it feel like you are part of an annex of NYU?
Is it still a commuter school? is the workload harder than the workload of a CAS or Stern student?
Is the social life really nonexistent? Do the Tandon people not really socialize with the rest of NYU?
Are the dorms at Tandon seperate from the rest of NYU (do people live on the nyu campus, then take the subway to class everyday or do they live in Brooklyn? How common is it to take classes at the traditional NYU campus?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I know that NYU has 2 years where everyone takes the same classes (core curriculum), and then start to focus on their major, so does that mean that Tandon has to go to the traditional campus for the first 2 years and take the same classes as everyone else?
