I wanted to know your perspective on the social and educational aspects of Penn compared to other prestigious schools such as Georgetown, Harvard, Princeton etc. I have heard good things about all of these schools and I want to be able to compare them in every aspect.

bump please…

u can’t compare the penn social life to harvard’s even tho that’s a city too. u esp can’t compare it to princeton’s dull life in isolation. i don’t know much about georgetown, but maybe it’s good b/c it’s w/in dc

These are all great schools, but no one can tell YOU what the social and educational aspects are. To be honest, you have to visit the schools and come up with your own understanding.

People can tell you that Harvard and Princeton are more “serious” and that Georgetown is more “social and fun,” but they make those judgments through comparison to their ideal college setting. Hence, what make seem “serious” to someone else may even seem too “social” to you.

If visiting the colleges is not an option at the moment and you are still very curious, perhaps you could browse through the college websites, look at the sort of activities going on throughout the year, and make your own determination of the school’s atmosphere. If the college looks at all interesting to you, apply, and then when/if you get accepted, visit the colleges and figure out which setting is right for you.
