Hello Everyone,
There is a good chance that I might be accepted to a boarding school in the US, however I am unsure as to what I want to do. I live in Europe currently, and even though I have visited America and know it very well, I am not sure what to do. If I were to go to boarding school, I would be very far away from my family, only probably seeing them once a year. I have never been away from my mother for more than a week in my life, and it would be a big step for me. She is hesitant to send me

Big steps are the moves we make through the course of time.

Come to America, at least for a little bit, and find if you like it or not. However, don’t close doors to once in a lifetime experiences, especially if you think you’ll regret it.

As for your mother, convince her if you want to go. If you find yourself unable to convince her, then how can you convince yourself?

Also, I think that given the opportunity, exploration to another place, a chance to meet new people and change my way of thinking, is a welcome step for me. Perhaps, you may feel the same way, and if you do, I’d urge you to think about coming to America by seeing what options hold the most benefit for you.
