Hey jym626, you know I also have a Tulane senior graduating next May.
He did an internship this past summer with a big financial institution and got invited to apply for a full time position in Sept. His interview was delayed but finally took place a week before Thanksgiving. Well, he flew into the city for the interview late the evening before and overslept the next morning! The HR called around 8:30 am to wake him up. When he rushed over to the headquarter (which fortunately is just across the street), he already missed the 1st two interviews. Worse yet, there were 9 other students from higher ranked schools and most of them were in a major more relevant for the open position than his. He was quite anxious over the holiday but guess what? He got the call on the Monday after Thanksgiving! He will start in June. Now, I am looking into housing and other logistics for him in a brand new city. How fun!
The moral of the story: Tulane’s education prepares its students well for their employment, and everyone should try his/her best to secure a summer internship. It really pays off!

Congrats, Stonebridge!!! Great news!!! Agree that internships are very helpful.

As an aside, my s was offered a second job from the company he interviewed with on that Friday that conflicted with the other interview!! He declined this job, as he has already accepted the other, and also cancelled the third interview he had scheduled. Our Tulane kids are doing so well!!
