Life Sciences and Management Early Decision

Hello.

I'm an observer of this forum and I did post once before about my SAT scores. Honestly, I really don't think I'm good enough for UPenn LSM (My scores), but I'm keen on going to Penn, specially because of the LSM Program.

I'm an IB student from India, and my subjects are:
Mathematics HL
Biology HL
Economics HL
English SL
French ab initio SL
Environmental Systems and Societies SL

Predicted predicted grade (Probably a guess):-
Math HL - 6/7
Economics HL - 6/7
Biology HL - 7/7
French ab SL - 6/7
English SL - 7/7
ESS SL - 7/7
Basically around 37-39

SAT scores:-
SAT 1:
Math: 760
Critical Reading: 700
Writing: 740
Total: 2200

SAT 2:
Not taken them as yet, but I'm planning on doing Math Level 2 and Biology.

Extracurricular Activities:
Judo State Level
Played football for my school constantly since 8th grade (not much of an achievement though lol)
Director of the Press Corps in multiple MUNs, also a member in many MUNs.
Will be working in an NGO to teach football to underprivileged kids (summer).
Also going to be part of a research project involving Genetics (summer).

Teacher's Recommendations:
I think both of them should be good. They will be doing it over the summer.

So my questions are:
1. Should I apply to Penn LSM ED? Do you think I really stand a chance?
2. Instead of doing that should I just apply to The School of Arts and Science, and do something like an Economics major and a Biological Science Minor?
3. Would I stand a chance in the following universities for similar courses like Economics and Biological Sciences?
- Brown University
- Northwestern University
- University of California - Berkeley
- New York University (Stern)
4. If I do get rejected in ED, would I still stand a chance if I applied RD to either LSM or the School of Arts and Sciences?

Thanks, I would really appreciate any response, as it will put me on track and can give me a realistic idea about which universities I should think of applying to. :)

Thanks for the reply. I do actually have a list of universities for both ED and RD, and Duke and Cornell are both in the list.
Any other replies would also be appreciated!

Why not apply ED and see what happens? As long as you are adamant about going to Penn, you should ED to give yourself a boost. Again though, that’s only if you REALLY want to go to Penn. I find that people, especially on CC, often say to applicants to apply ED to boost their chances solely. However, if you cannot absolutely see yourself there then don’t waste time applying ED just to get in to a “top-tier” school. Sorry if this sounds bitter or accusatory. Bottom line is I think you should at the very least apply RD to both LSM and Penn and see what happens.

Chance me back?

I am also thinking about applying ED to that program. My advice for you would be to make sure that your time is occupied. Your extracurriculars are good, just make sure they fill many of your hours. If not, find some other ways to get involved like a job or something basic. Study hard for SAT’s and good luck!

Thanks for the replies!
@Hockeydude,
I took a look at your thread, but I really don’t think I’m well versed with admissions enough to chance you!
