Was that addressed towards me? If so, I've only started the deadlift recently, (I've done the squat much longer) but my long arms, when fully stretched, have difficulty holding considerable weight.

In that sense, the squat is much easier for me, and leads to a lot less soreness and injury.

Huh thats interesting. I find DL to be easier in terms of raw poundage. But I do have better technique in the squat. Grip strength is a huge factor too. Doing some assistance in form of suitcase deadlifts, farmers walk seemed to help.

Most people do deadlift more than they squat; that is largely true at the competitions that I go to. But, I have seen that lifters shorter than 5'9 tend to be better at the squat. It's really a leverage thing. In the same line, a lot of people think that people with shorter arms have a leverage advantage on bench. That's simply not true though.

silva: 140 clean, 400 squat, 405 deadlift. yes that is indeed ********.
who the hell puts on 3 45's, a 35, a 5, and a 2.5. When you get that high, the extra 5 is negligible. It could really be the difference between being slightly to one side of the bar.
