Likely/Early write letters

The thing to remember about early writes and likely letters is that they are menat to attract a student that the particular college perceives will be in high demand. In fact, that is probably true as you will note that many of the same students receive multiple early writes/ likely letters. WIthout opening up the entire can of worms… many are quest bridge applicants, URM’s, Academic superstars etc. There is nothing negative that should be inferred by not receiving an early write. You will all know soon enough what your choices are and hopefully your dreams will be answered. If not, rest assured, it isn’t the end of the world. The very characteristics that took you to the place where you thought you had a good chance of admission (even thinking you were a candidate for an early write) are the same characterisitics that will make you successful in life no matter what college you attend. Good Luck and stay patient over the next couple of weeks.

My son received one today (dated March 9th).

Received mine today here on the West Coast! It definitely made my day, along with lots of pie in my stats class. I hope I get to meet some of you at Ride the Tide!

Got mine today in the mail. AHHHH SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!

alexcoconuts - i’m from cali too! are you from socal or norcal?

good luck to all other CCers on their acceptance news!

Daughter received an early write today on the west coast dated March 9. Not an athlete, URM or QB. So excited-will make for a much more relaxing spring break. Looking forward to Ride the Tide!

I got mine today XD

did any internationals get early writes?

Got one! =D

got mine today  it’s such a great feeling, im so excited!!! i hope there are more of these on the way!!

My daughter also received one on Saturday. She’s thrilled, but we’re bummed she will not be able to attend the RTT weekend.

I haven’t gotten one :frowning:
Sorry if this is a dumb question but does that mean I didn’t get in?
also i live in So california…
freaking out!

No, equestrian, this does not mean you didn’t get in. Just wait for the regular admissions decisions to go out in the next couple of weeks. Despite the impression you might get by reading CC, the majority of people admitted to Swarthmore do not get early writes.

I got one and it was dated March 9th

I received an early write also. I also attended DiscoSwat, so that probably has some relevance to the early notification.

I got one :] Haven’t visited yet. Swarthmore did recruit at my school. I was really surprised because I didn’t even know that Swarthmore did this.

I think this thread is dea…but My D just received and early letter for the class of 2016. Yipeee!

I got one today as well! Postmarked March 9th.

would like to see early write people’s stats - is there an official RD2012 thread?

I got one today! mine was postmarked march 8th!

Got one today (dated March 8th)!! I feel like I should be ecstatic right now but I’m more just confused because I wasn’t expecting to hear anything for weeks (and I wasn’t expecting to get in since Swat has never accepted anyone from my school), so it’s just weird right now…anyone else feeling the same way?
