He (X) wrote elsewhere that he has a 32 ACT composite, a 2150 (ish) SAT.

which one is it lol?

lol

my stats are are the low side, i agree. but i know i didn't get accepted because of that alone (and i'm still not talking about the URM status).

anyway, this is sad. :(((((((((((

oh, and yeah the 1850/27 was a lie lol but the likely letter wasn't and i swear it's sweet to know early loooooooool

soz guys what's a URM?

Under-represented minority, i.e. hispanics, blacks, or native americans. Asians are considered ORMs, or over-represented minorities, meaning that being one is sometimes viewed as a disadvantage.

^ very unfair that

oh right cheers
and yeah i (somehow) got me an international likely and i'm neither sportsman nor URM (unless Aussies are under-represented) :D

^ Congrats!!!!

aussies r hot

says quakeroats lolz

One friend got his 2 weeks ago, another got one last week. There are bound to be more though.

Anyone know when athletes tend to get their likely letters--November?

@ ajbwells : nice job on getting an international likely..congratulations

They are targeted towards hyper-qualified athletes, legacies, minorities, hooked applicants, and other students they know will be accepted to competitive schools and will need heavy influencing to persuade them to come.

absolutely right..congratulations to all who got likely letters..fantastic job

So I got rejected from MIT and waitlisted from Caltech, which pretty much convinced me that I wouldn't be getting into HPY, but then I got likely letters from Cornell (engineering) and Dartmouth, which got my hopes up. So do you think I have a below average/average/above average chance?

Btw, I'm Asian, in case that makes a difference.

ECFashionista....the reason for that, I'm assuming is that u were weaker than other candidates in the science and math department (which Cal and MIT care A TON about)

but congrats on the two other ivies!!! :)

Wait, so are any of these nonURMs or nonatheletes?

i concur with QuakerOats about most citizens of that nation. especially the accent:)
