I've read that some Ivies, such as Columbia, begin mailing "likely letters" in early January. Has anyone received a letter from a top college, such as Columbia, yet this year?

I'm particularly curious about when the Ivies, Tufts, Duke, Amherst, and Williams are sending out likelies/early writes. I recently read an article (posted below) which explains that Dartmouth will for sure be mailing likely letters this year. It doesn't look like they mail them until later on, though...

By Ivy agreement, Ivies can issue Likely Letters from Oct 1 to March 15. Some of your list isn’t part of the eight Ivies however.

Obviously, they issue them when they read through the pile of applicants and find students of note. Remember, it’s only two weeks since the new year – I’d be surprised if they’ve even gone through the whole pile.

But frankly, unless you’re an athlete, your wasting your time and energy waiting for a Likely Letter. Most acceptees never see one. Regardless of what “waves” of letters get sent, why even bother?
