Hello everyone. I'm a Freshman at a public school, and I seem to be in a bit of a "pickle."

At our school, you are only allowed to take Physics C and CalcBC as a Senior. That means that I won't know the stuff for the SATIIs and AP tests for these courses when I take them my Junior year. I will however be taking AP Chemistry and AP Statisitics. If I took the Chemistry SATII and AP and the Statistics AP exam, would that look as good as a Physics SATII + AP and a CalcBC AP exam? Or should I independently study both of these courses?

Haha, mathwiz meant "wouldn't". :) And I agree.

You'll need to take 3 SATII's to apply to MIT -- one math (Ic or IIc, doesn't matter which), one science, and one of your choice. The science you choose doesn't have any impact on your admission; one isn't better than another.

From this year forward, you only need two tests -- one math, one science. What I said about which particular science not mattering still applies.

What happens if you try to sign up for those classes in an earlier year? Are you unable to take those because of a scheduling conflict or just because the administration at your school is stubborn? If you've tried to sign up for those classes and find that you can't, MIT definittely will understand and it shouldn't affect your application, but if you're just assuming that your school won't let you take those classes because that's what's typically done, you might want to ask them about it - your teachers may turn out to be more accomodating than you expected.
