Linguistics at Temple

So I just got back from a tour at Temple and I thought it was a really cool place. Obviously I didn't get a chance to talk to anyone from the major I want to go into, however. Does anyone here know how good the Linguistics major is at Temple or if usually undergrads get to do research?

Thanks so much in advance!

My daughter’s also very interested in the linguistics major at Temple. Anyone with any information?

I myself am not a Linguistics major, but I’m currently in a linguistics class as an English elective and I have several friends who are pursuing linguistics degrees. That being said, I’ve only heard good things so far about their classes. Granted, even the one I am in is tough, but I’ve learned so much about the spoken word in just one class alone. It’s really interesting stuff, and I’ve only heard good reviews about the professors and the work.

My professor is very interesting and knowledgable about every language you could think of. She’s been in just about every field of linguistics and can match any sort of accent in any language. It really is a sight to behold. On top of that, we have one of the most decorated transcribers in the world as part of the linguistics department. So I’ve only seen and heard great things about what Temple has to offer for Linguistics.
