Linguistics at UCLA?

Hey there, I’m a recently admitted transfer student to UCLA for anthropology and I’m very interested in taking courses in linguistics (my favorite anthro course was a linguistic anthropology course).

I’m wondering if anyone here is in the ling program or knows anything about it such as the difficulty, workload, etc. I don’t mind a challenge (some of the early stuff in my linguistics anthro course did actually scare me with how it looked lol). I’m just curious about the department and am interested in switching into the linguistics and anthro major (or ling & cs if at all possible). Thanks guys

Just thought I’d do a bump to see if anyone knows anything :stuck_out_tongue:

Their linguistics program is the second best program out of all the colleges that have Linguistics as an option. The first is MIT but I think they are more Computer Science based Linguistics. I don’t know about the rigor but it’s the second best out of all of them it might be kind of a challenge but it seems really really cool.
