Linguistics Major at UCLA

I’m applying to UCLA as a freshman for the fall of 2016, and I was wondering how competitive a major linguistics is. Thus far in the application process I’ve declared Linguistics and English as my primary major and Linguistics as my alternate. My stats are all on par with the admitted students, but I know that certain majors have bigger applicant pools and are therefore more competitive, so I was just wondering if there was any way to find out how competitive certain majors are and what acceptance rates are within different majors.

Thanks!

Hi!
I’m sorry this is not an answer to ur question, bur what kind of extracurriculars did you do?
I’m in high school now and I wish to study linguistics in college too, and all I’m doing is just studying other foreign languages (Chinese, Japanese and Spanish; and Korean is my 1st lang) and reading books about linguistics(how languages develop, how ppl acquire languages and etc)
Sorry again if it’s not appropriate to ask here,
thanks!

What you “know” is incorrect. The College of L&S does not take major into account when making admission decisions for frosh.
