Here is a link to see if your Math class for spring 2012 has the professor name listed:
http://www.math.ufl.edu/~fgarvan/cgi-bin/schedule_csh.cgi?sem=s&yr=2012&submit=GET+LIST

Looks like MAC2312 and some others have yet to have assigned profs, but many do…keep checking this link…then check student evalauations to see what you are “in for”

Almost every teacher is listed except for Calculus 2…why?

Calculus 3 finally came out. Still nothing for 1 and 2. I have Maissen. Not sure how to feel about that except grateful it’s not Walsh.

bobbo—My S had Maissen for Calc 2 and said he was great. The material is difficult, but he felt Maissen did a really good job of explaining the material. He said you are lucky to get Maissen…he just finished Calc 3 with another prof and said he wished he could’ve had Maissen again. Good luck.

They got rid of this afaik. has anyone found the replacement?

I have Walsh, whats facing me???

where did you find out? is there a site, did you go to an advisor or are you part of some special group they tell ahead of time?

My suggestion is to take the easiest math teachers possible as the amount of time you save to get the same grade will vastly outweigh whatever schedule inconvenience. Walsh gives out the lowest grades of any of the regular calc 3 teachers(not sure on other subjects). Theres a decent amount of resources for calculus so I assume anyone who gives out that low of grades is going to require lots of time to get the same grade as another section

Unfortunately Maissens turned out to be almost as low for calc 3 specifically and I found out too late( he was a really good prof, but not good enough to make up for the vast disparity in course difficulty between sections)

Try this link from time to time as the summer goes on:
[Courses, Mathematics Department, University of Florida](Courses – Department of Mathematics)

or keep checking the book list on ISIS…sometimes the name of your teacher will pop up as the summer goes on…

You may have to wait a few weeks…as you get closer to Fall, your prof should be on one of these places

What’s with the math department always having the professors up super late relative to other departments?

I think they want to prevent people from choosing between professors
