List of CollegeConfidential users who are admitted to Columbia

Hey guys,

I took a minute to put together a list of everyone who replied to the Official Class of 2012 ED thread, and said they were admitted. I figured it might be helpful for all of you to contact people.

I went a little farther and pulled some basic biographical details about them - where each of you are from, maybe your main interests. I stayed away from the scores and numbers since that's not really going to give anyone a reason to want to get to know you, but the other stuff might. And everyone who got deferred, i'll include them if/when they get accepted RD in april.

People with a * in front of their username included full profile details in the Official ED Thread, the others just posted partial details or just the fact that they were accepted.

Hope that's helpful! Wow, 29 of you. That's a pretty big group. Best luck to all,

D

woohoo! i never imagined that the m.c. hammer song would be playing in my head as i accept this award…

which one, U Can’t Touch This, or 2 Legit 2 Quit?

I’m ED too - even 30!

me too…31

[Academic Index Calculator - Ivy League](http://www.collegeconfidential.com/academic_index3.htm)

can people who were accepted please post the number they got. if you only took 2 sat II use sat writing for third sat II. use weighted gpa

236, or 9

I hope that helps…

I’m ED as well. Can’t wait for COLUMBIA BABY!!! :D

Ooooh, dear God, I hate that stupid academic index calculator.

It’s something that I would have loved last year, eagerly hoping to quell insecurities about college acceptances. Well, you know what that thing tells you?

All it tells you is: you have high GPA, rank, and SATs, you’ll be a stronger applicant - lower, less chances. That’s it. And that should be especially intuitive to anyone here at this point.

However, I DID try this because another CCer posted this blasted thing (and I argued it in that thread as well) and I have an index of 4! I shouldn’t be going to college, no less Columbia as an early decision applicant. Geez.

Look beyond the numbers, get over your insecurities, and let everything fall into place as it will.

p.s. I LOVE COLUMBIA

:)

denzera, a little creepy just a little, but w/e.

yeah, maybe. i mean, i was reading the ED thread and thinking “wow, so much to read through…” and also thinking “I should congratulate these people” and then decided “why don’t I just jot down a list of everyone in a text file and post it”.

And then I went totally overboard. Happens all the time, it’s why they pay me. Oh, wait, they’re not paying me to be on CC? Shoot, back to work I guess.

I’m ed also, but I went through the whole questbridge process. I dont post too much, but I guess, maybe I should be more involved since so many of us will be attending the same school in a couple of moths.

To add more info, I’m a girl from MN, Korean citizen, C.Prescott Davis Scholar, took ACT instead of SAT1

Congrats to all you guys and gals.

Someone should compile an analysis of how applicants who post all the time about how great Columbia is / how they so desperately want to go to Columbia / freak out every day on here about their chances / etc. fare versus those who don’t. Witnessing this board for a half-dozen admissions cycles, I would hypothesize that the applicants in the former group are far less likely to get in. I only recognize a few of the monikers on this list, and the posters I can think of who fall into the former group generally do not get in.

You can add DizzySon if you want. From California.

I applied Early Decision for Class of 2013
& I’m just wondering…all of you Class of 2012, when did you find out???
