list of east coast colleges that arent ivy league

so im going to be applying to cornell for early acceptance, and if im not accepted id like to know what great, not so well known schools there are that are just a tiiiiiny bit (but not alot) easier to get into/prestigious there are in the area. if you want to know how competitive of a student i am, think of the exact UCLA&/orCAL 50th percentile of acceptance student

University of Rochester
Tufts University
Carnegie Mellon
Boston College

Rochester, BC, Lehigh, Brandeis, Tufts, Villanova, Bucknell, Trinity College, Wake Forest (not really the coast), Bates, Colby, Holy Cross, UNC, NYU, and more.

Just about any LAC in roughly the USNWR #10 - #30 ought to meet your criteria. Haverford, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Hamilton, Vassar, Colgate, etc.

Middlebury and Bowdoin are #5 and #6, respectively. Thier stats place them in the same league as Cornell.

Williams
Amherst
Smith
Middlebury
Vassar
Bowdoin
Boston College
Boston University
Northeastern University
Villanova
Bucknell
Trinity College
Bates
Colgate
Wesleyan
etc.

Again, many of the schools listed above are as competitive or even more competitive than Cornell. He’s looking for schools that are easier to get into.

i would like to know too! thanks alot :)

NYU, GW, Tufts, Brandeis, Lehigh, Bucknell, Villanova, U of Rochester, SUNY Binghamton (especially if $ is a criteria).

OP, this is a pretty question to answer on your own … why don’t you look up the admission rates for the schools ranked #15-50 on the USNews Research U list and on the LAC list?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/687793-selectivity-ranking-national-us-lacs-combined-usnews-method.html

This is 2.5 years old, but the pecking order probably has not changed much.
Haverford, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Hamilton, Vassar, and Colgate, in that order, were all at least a tiiiiiny bit less selective than Cornell (by PapaChicken’s calculations, anyway). By enough of a margin to make the OP comfortable? If not, take it down a notch.
