I read that the best way to earn financial aid is to take money out of your bank account and put it into a safe deposit box so colleges think you need more financial assistance. just a suggestion

Actually, hiding assets in that manner is probably the best way to spend some time in prison for fraud, not really the way for folks to begin their futures.

You question covers a lot of territory & I'm sure that there are folks who have been scammed by many promising to "guarantee" students will get aid and/or scholarships for an application & processing fee. Our local newpaper is doing an expose of one woman with several fraud convictions that has been offering seminars for such things in town. I find it reprehensible, but they know there are lots of folks who want help navigating thru the complexities of getting aid & willing to pay for it.

It's really helpful of these informations. By the way I want to ask if there is any one knows about any scholarship outside available for international students? I received some merit-based scholarship but it's not enough to get me in. They advised me to bring outside scholarship. Im trying to find some scholarship from some organization or sponsor but it's pretty hard. I hope that some one can share informations about this. Thanks a lot!

and they don’t sell your information! I’ve also used [FastWeb : Scholarships, Financial Aid, Student Loans and Colleges](http://www.fastweb.com) but I’ve received SO many e-mail offers from them. Their engine is good, just hate all the spammy e-mail.
