<p>NyOrker, UMass is no where near the top 10 in MA, probably not even the top 50, they don’t deny people. Northeastern is good but probably around the 15-20 range.</p>

<p>hah,not even close, Mass public colleges and universities are not strong, however, they have easily the strongest private schools in the nation. Cali has good schools but i mean Mass has the top 2 schools in the nation right off the bat. Besides stanford and USC California has mostly public schools. Not that public schools are bad, however, the public sector typically is not as strong as the private. Mass has 117 strong schools.</p>

Even if we were talking about the top 40 schools in America you have to include places like Amherst and Swarthmore, etc. in that list.</p>
