I am curious to know what some of you think are the top 10 schools in the country. I know many of you will say this is pointless but I think its interesting to see how we would rank schools if it was in our hands, since we hate US news so much. Than we can see an overall ranking using averages from all of us.

Aren't there like many other threads that have already been made?

yes there are a number of threads that are already made concerning this topic, u can search for them

the schools that most people placed in the top 10 included...
harvard, yale, princeton, mit, stanford, caltech, duke, dartmouth
schools that filled the last two spots usually varied between: uchicago, johns hopkins, northwestern, penn, columbia, cal.

In no particular order: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Columbia, Berkeley, Duke, Chicago.

wat about Cornelllllll

HPYSM Cal Tech, Penn, Duke, Northwestern, and UC schools (I don't know much about thme, besides they are good)

i am sorry, whenever i see a top 10 schoo list that has Penna and Duke, and not columbia, truly just shows you are ignorant, and i won't even get started about cornell.

Oops, Columbia, throw that in there

(bball, it could mean that I forgot, not that I'm ignorant - infact, if ignorance means having diverging opinions, so be it; plus, the question asked for my opinion, not yours)

let's please end this thread now. shrek's post gives you your answer

i am sorry, how is dartmouth included in the top 10 as well as Brown. Something has to be said about having top 10 depatments, which Brown and Dartmouth do not have many of. For every top 10 departments at Brown and Dartmouth, I can probably name twice as many for U of Chicago.

I guess Brown and Dartmouth are in the top 10 for him because he thinks that they are in the top 10 lol, after all, a subjective question deserves subjective answers

bumpybittbump

Bball, do not take this so personally. lol

Shrek answered the question.

The top 10 schools in no particular order are Harvard Princeton Yale Stanford Duke MIT Columbia Dartmouth UCB (?) Caltech

Im sorry, bball, but IMO Cornell is just outside of this when it comes to undergad.

Why do so many people put the UC's above Uva? Is it like a west coast biased, or what???

UVA is a great school and I actually like Baldacci's writing too

i live in texas lol

I am sorry, but in no way is Duke and Dartmouth better than UPenn. That is just nonsene. What makes Dartmouth sooo good to be a top 10 school. I mean, its departments aren't that strong compared to a Chicago, Cornell, Penn. If UCB is a top 10 school, they why isn't Penn or Cornell???
