<p>I’m on the Howard above American team, and I say that as an American Alumna. Howard has areas in which it’s the top. For many people it’s their first choice. Other people are lured in by fantastic merit aid. So, yes they can be very forgiving of low scores in their admissions, but they also have some very brilliant people there who are committed to the idea of an HBCU. American, on the other hand, attracts a lot of people who couldn’t get into Georgetown. That isn’t to say that it’s not a great place to get an education, but I’d still put it below Howard.</p>
