ok so last spring semester i failed a class. on the uc application, do i list that failed course even though im currently retaking it right now for fall semester and will be receiving an A..? i just think it looks bad and if im retaking it whats the point of listing a failure..ugh fml

It’s not that big of a deal. You list all the courses you’ve ever taken-- even if you got a W, NP, D’s or F’s. And if you’ve retaken the course, it will say on the application: repeated “on this date”. I had two F’s and a D that I retook. I’m currently retaking the D. I’m telling you right now, if you don’t list the course, they will reject your application for being a liar and for trying to cheat the system. They will find out! List everything. It honestly isn’t a big deal.

If they find out later that you intentionally withheld a grade, not only will they reject you, but you will never be allowed to apply to the UC’s ever again. And they will find out, because you will have to eventually submit your transcript if accepted. In any case, you do not even have to worry about the F. Your retake grade will replace the fail for GPA calculation purposes. Don’t sweat it.

Yeah, list the failed grade and the passing grade.

@mermaker: Where on the UC app does it say that you’ve repeated the class? I don’t think it gives you the option to list it as a repeat. You might be referring to the TAG application which does allow you to list a class as a repeat.

ahh okay. I haven’t done the app yet. I assumed it had that same option.

I see alright do I’ll def list it…how about the csu’s? It just asked for the gpa i think…is the uc system more lenient?

**less lenient

The UC system is more selective.

Like more strict about the application?

I’m not sure about that. All I know is if you knowingly falsify any information then it’s grounds for your application being denied.
