So I take it that the colleges listed on FAFSA are everywhere the kid applies? S has two acceptances so far (huzzah! love it that he decided to do EA!) but waiting on others … still, am I right to assume we list everything? Not just where he’s been accepted, and then add others as (or if) he gets in there, too?
Also, is it still recommended to list colleges in alphabetical order because they see each others’ names?
Thanks! I kinda feel like the Queen of Dumb Questions here, but really appreciate the help
Almost every state education agency has at least one grant or scholarship available to residents, and many have a long list of student aid programs. If you are eligible for and need state aid, you should list schools in your home state some where at the top of your list.
One more time:
It will be these agencies that will see the schools that you have listed on your FAFSA. Keep in mind for state aid in most cases you can use for public or private schools. Each state may have a cap on what they cover and what is offered at the public/private school level. Colleges will not see the the schools on your list nor the order that you have placed them in.
