Literally know NOTHING

  1. I have the worst teachers ever.
  2. I can't really grasp information easily.
  3. tbh I should've started studying earlier.... I've learned my lesson.

How to master everything about APUSH in three days? Keep in mind #2… I consider myself a very average student. I want to aim for a 4.

You can’t grasp information easily and you only have three days? There’s nothing that can be done. No offense.

If you can’t grasp information easily, and you’re a “very average student”, why on earth are you taking a college level course in high school?

And, knowing that, why on earth did you wait until midnight on May 4th to ask for help?

I’m sorry, but unless you’ve grossly under represented your standing, it doesn’t look good for you. There simply aren’t enough hours between now and the exam for you to learn an entire semester of college level work.

The only advice I can give is…good luck?

When in doubt, guess Henry Clay.

Jumping Star, Are you a junior or a senior? (or perhaps even a sophomore as some students take AP US History as sophomores). If you are not a senior, and a good score is important to you, then take the test (either for the first time or again) next year. You can take AP tests more than once.

To be honest, i think I am underestimating my ability to grasp knowledge. I only saw say I can’t grasp knowledge easily because I don’t thinkI’m the smartest kid. I’m usually really pessimistic but I’m trying to be optimistic and just gonna study as hard as I can. True, it’s all on me since I didn’t try my hardest throughout the year, but I think it better to study than to give up hope and not do anything.
@perserverance1 I’m a junior, thanks for the info.

Don’t listen to those people (@bjkmom @perserverance1 @DarkEclipse), @jumpingstar. I’m a senior right now with average grades going to an average college. However, last year I just crammed an APUSH Princeton Review book the night before (having not remembered pretty much anything from my shitty teacher) and got a 5. Granted, I did cram for a straight 6-8 hours, but I got a 5. The “college-leveled” information in this exam is about as straight forward as possible. There’s a reason why most colleges don’t seriously consider APUSH as a college-leveled class. Just know general ideas about each president/time period and know some important names and events and you’ll get a 4, at the least. So as I said, if you focus down these last two days and get all that information into your head you should be fine. Don’t listen to those above me, they obviously didn’t do good on the exam and would hate to see someone that didn’t study much get a better score. I have no idea why they responded if they can’t provide actual help for you. Good luck dude, you’ll be fine!

@PinkMist I didn’t take APUSH, I’m an international. Refrain from insulting people. Perseverance was offering good advice, so I have no idea why you’re insulting him/her as well. You obviously have no clue who took which class, so instead of loading up on assumptions, you would do well to keep your opinions to yourself.

CRASH COURSE!
It’s a short book that lists all the things you need to know for the exam, down to telling you what questions they will definitely ask. I read it cover to cover one time last year and made a 5. Try to read it a few times if you can, the entire thing including the ending part that lists everything under themes. That really helps to reinforce everything and link it all thematically. GOOD LUCK!! You can do it!

Good luck, OP, hope it works out for you.

Frightening, simply frightening.

what an odd thread this is

Hey so idk I think you may be able to pass if you really focus. I personally think your best bet is videos… And this doesnt mean you casually sit at your computer with your phone out and watch, this means you are 100% focused the entire time and preferably making flashcards. Here are some videos you should watch.

Adam norris has like 27 period videos (period 1.1 period 1.2 ect.) reviews… Watch those carefully And after each video identify in your head trends, and link events from that video to ones from the past.

Then there are cramming videos that go over all the course material I have abunch of them here
http://cubby20888.wix.com/10thgrade#!cram-day-resources/cojy
Make sure to watch tons of these taking flashcards.

A review book might help you out.

And then thursday night learn all of those flashcards and review on how to write a good essay.

The thing that will ultimately decide how well you will do on the test is how much you can trick yourself into loving history… If your brain is actually interested in the material it is 1000000 x more likely to remember it.

Good Luck!

Note: I do not suggest watching crash course videos in my opinion they aren’t very ideal for learning the material, especially if you didn’t know it before.

@Cubby208 awesome tips! I actually watched some of Adam Norris’s videos and watched some crash course… but I agree doesn’t really help imo

Crash Course all the way. If you can read some 150 pages of bullet points in 4 hours, you’ll get at least a 4 and most likely a 5 (assuming you know how to structure the APUSH essays, which crash course gives a few tips on as well).

Cramming is okay. I crammed for art history yesterday night, and took it today - aced that so easily.

@GranTurismo330 thanks for the advice actually read crash course during the summer but re-reading it literally right now… haha

@GranTurismo330 Again, Perseverance said nothing negative, he/she was trying to help. I don’t know where people like you pop up from. Did we say not to cram? Don’t you think Jumpingstar’s basic instinct would be to cram? It’s common sense, what you’ve said amounts to zero. It’s like telling someone how to fly an airplane, by saying “Here’s how to fly one. Step one: Fly it.”
We’re not elitist. Art History is not US History.
Ergo, your argument amounts to nothing. Period.

A mod already edited out the first instance of name calling in this thread. Cut it out.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Closing thread as it’s come down to unacceptable behavior which I’ve deleted. As the AP test is passed, there really is nothing more to be said.
