After I applied to Williams I realized I have to take 2 subject tests. I decided I’d take Biology E and Literature. I got a biology study aid, plus, I remember a lot of Bio-E stuff from AP Enviro and Honors Bio.
For the Literature test, do we need any significant prior knowledge? (Obviously with tests like Chemistry, Physics, you need to actually know the stuff).
I’m naturally a great reader; I’ve done very well on reading sections on the ACT and SAT. I’m also in AP Lit right now.
There are definitions that you need to know. They are simple things like the meaning of stanza and such. The test won’t ask you the meaning in a question but it will use the words in questions so unless you know the definition you won’t be able to answer the question.
So I only need to know those literary definitions?
You need to memorize these. But you will also need to know the layout of poetry, drama, and prose. There probably will be questions on point of view. This is all I can recall. If you don’t know what’s on the test you should try a review book. The test is not like the CR on any test, and many people who do well on the SAT CR don’t succeed on the SAT Lit because SAT Lit has difficult questions and a tough curve.
