Little Scare

I called ILR today the woman told me there might be a delay in the acceptance letters. She said the 19th was not a definate date (I interuppted her and told her it was posted on the website),. She said we should expect the decisions by the end of next week. So I said "wednesday" she said"I never said that sometime by the end of next week"

End of next weeek could be Sunday?!

Then I called the main admissions and they said its the 19th 5 PM.

Who to believe and trust?

time to freak out.

Also my mom called ILR before I did and the woman also told her by the end of next week,

thats sooooooo unfair. I will probably have to spend 700 dollars applying to schools before I even know if I am in. They need to get their acts together. No other school is having this problem.

I don't think you can really trust any one (I know, pessimism...) I think that no one there really knows when they will be finished with the applications.

no i think what they meant is that the LETTERS (not angry just trying to emphasize) may be delayed until the end of the week. admissions notification will still be posted online though

So it's sure to be posted on the 19th? B/c I actually have heard (so far unsubstantiated) rumors that the decision would actually be pushed back. I'm not trying to freak anyone out or anything though

nothing is ever 100% for sure but even when we thought it was the 15th i dont recall cornell ever putting the definitive date and time on the website. we just all assumed it was the 15th. i think the fact that they put such an announcement on the website proves that they are very serious about meeting this deadline. ive also spoken not only to the admissions office and been told the 19th but also directly to cals and was told the same thing.

No, well at least in cadabra's case for ILR, there arent any online self service notifications. I heard the director of admissions tell me the last week of december. Its late, and I wasted alota money depositing other places, but its worth the wait. I really want to get in.

I agree though, for on of the nations top school's its a little unorganized in the admin office.

If . . . say, we don't hear back for ED until like the 23rd (next Sunday). Maybe all the ED decisions will be turned into regular decisions (non-binding). I mean, they can't expect us to send out the rest of our applications on (or right after) Christmas! They're probably hoping that we're sending out applications right now and they can't expect us to withdraw every single application (a waste of money!)! It would totally unfair to tell us their decisions 6/7 days before the deadline for all other schools.

its not going to happen. i think everyone is overreacting

You people need to chill out.

It'll be next Wednesday, calm the **** down.

Your probably right, worrying just gives me something to do to pass the time until I get the decision

Go partying and drinking instead.

I'm sure it will be on Wednesday. I mean my last day before break is next Friday, the 21st. I have all of my other applications on hold and waiting to be submitted from my guidance center, so they are waiting for me to tell them my ED decision. I couldn't imagine finding out that late for an ED school.
