Living at co-ops

Out of curiosity, what do people think about co-ops at Cornell? I feel like people don't talk about them much, even though they seem like an awesome counterpoint to Greek life. Are there different reputations for different co-ops? I slightly regret not having moseyed this year, but I guess next year (possibly)!

The co-ops are one of the many hidden gems on a campus filled with hidden gems.

I have a couple of friends living in co-ops. To be honest, I haven’t heard much about them, but they say it’s a great inexpensive alternative to living on campus (close-knit communities, laid back, etc). As far as I can tell a small minority live in these arrangements, I wonder if anyone on this board has had any experiences with co-ops.
