Living at Home?

I currently go to ISU and live in an off-campus apartment, and I love living there, but its coming time to start thinking about renewing the lease to the apartment and the 4 other guys I live with are going to graduate this year, and the other guys that I would live with don't know if they will have room for me to come into their apartment.

I'm considering moving into the duplex that my parents own that is a few blocks away from their house. It will be about a 35 mile commute from my house to campus. My dilemma is whether or not it would be a good idea. I am planning on only have classes either 2-3 days a week as by that point I will only have a 12 credit schedule since I will be a senior, and I also work in the city where my parents live and stay there on weekends currently, but I also have a second job traveling around central Iowa in about a 200 mile radius.

The driving isn't an issue to me, I do a lot of that already. I just wonder whether or not it would help keep me from distractions, and since I'm not much of a bar hopper, I wouldn't be missing out on that. It also helps that I get along great with my parents and have a ton of friends that I work with on the weekends, and having my own private place would be great in my opinion. I need to make this decision by the 12th of January so any relevant input would be much appreciated.

Personally I would live in the duplex

I live at home, a 40 minute drive from my college. It’s worked out well for me so far, but I’m just a freshman and I had a light course load last semester. I’d go for it if I were you.

Agreed, if you have a good relationship with your family and don’t mind driving then just live home. If it doesn’t work out you could always try to find your own place near school again, but it’s worth it to try living at home.

Thanks for all the replys everyone, I still am going to think on the subject some more but I am leaning towards the duplex a little bit more at this point. Any other opinions that you have to express please let me know as the impute will be useful.
