Living In a Single

My freshman roommate (roommate as of now as well) is terrible. He has this clingy girlfriend (hideous) that he sleeps with every other night in the room and they both snore and somehow shes always sick. I wake up about every hour just because of them... Because of this awesome experience i'm thinking about living in the dorms for another year but in a single. Anyone have any experience as a sophomore living in a single in a predominantly freshman dorm??? The dorm i'm in right now is 30 seconds away from the library, 2 minutes away from the business school, 15 seconds away from the cafeteria and 1 minute away from the gym. The location is amazing and there is a bus stop right outside my door. Only thing is i don't want to seem like a huge loner by living in a dorm especially a single my sophomore year.

I would live off campus but the school i go to is too far for me to drive to and im looking to transfer maybe spring 2011 or fall 2011 so canceling a dorm contract would be a lot easier than canceling a rent contract.

Wow. What do you mean by hideous?

I’m a sophomore in a single and it’s great. If you have a friend group established, you shouldn’t end up as a loner, but you do have to work at keeping in touch with them if they’re not in your dorm or nearby. If you like the location and are planning to transfer out anyway, I’d go with the single in the mostly freshmen dorm.
