LLC questions

My daughter is in incoming Freshman, starting this summer. She is majoring in biology, not pre-med, but not exactly sure what route she wants to go yet, just that she loves biology and genetics and working in a lab. She applied to the women in stem LLC, WIMSE, which those students live in Cawthon, which is where she would love to be. I have tried to ask and read up on the program, and there is a place where you can see how many of the students were happy with the program. It did not seem like too many were overly happy with it, but no one outright said it was awful either. My daughter is usually that one kid that ends up liking the teacher that everyone hates, so she is not scared off by some of the things that she has read about this particular program. I told her that maybe she should consider applying to the LLC at Reynolds as well, the reviews on that one were overwhelmingly positive. It is for people who are interested in health sciences and pre-med, but not only those particular areas.

I guess I’m just asking if anyone knows anything in particular about the LLC at Reynolds? My daughter has a low priority number, around 500, and she applied early to WIMSE because she was interested, not because she had a low priority number, although I don’t know if that makes any difference in how they decide who to accept to the program.

I’m a current WIMSE student and have been in the program for four years. I have never had an issue with it and I know all of my fellow WIMSEs share the same sentiment. In general, most of the “negative” comments are from students that were not in WIMSE. WIMSE is more than an LLC however, it is a society and the only LLC that continues membership in all grade levels. Check out out Facebook page (Women in math, science, and engineering) or Instagram page (WIMSE_FSU) to see more about what we do. You’ll see that most of us absolutely LOVE the program

also Reynolds is for pre-med majors

Thank you for your response. My daughter had her interview for WIMSE, and she is hopeful that she gets in
